On September 10th 2006 was the 6th annual disciple ceremony at the USA Shaolin Temple. This ceremony continues the tradition of discipleship at the Shaolin Temple. The names of new disciples were taken from the Eighty-eight Buddhas Sutra. The Eighty-eight Buddhas Sutra was introduced at the fifth annual disciple ceremony in 2005 at which the final character of the Heart Sutra had been designated for the naming of new disciples.
